Thanksgiving Day brought several high points: first, the nice phone call from the Secretary of my Division when I was part of the work force; next, the news that Lloyd is pleased with the healing progress after his ankle operation; next the wonderful brunch and visit with Sam and Shirley and friends (marred by Shirley losing a treasured earring;) and lastly, Julie and Jade came to my place for a visit in the evening.

Well, maybe “neglects” should have been used instead of “forgets.” How could any unbiased person completely forget the terrible Obamacare law foisted off upon a mostly unconscious American public by Obama and his democrat toadies. Monday started with biscuits and gravy at Chick-fil-A where I also worked the Sodoku puzzle. From there, went on to Big O Tires where I had the auto tires rotated and had an enjoyable conversation with a lady from Avon. Then on to the post office and a bunch of not real great mail. Dan and Diana dropped by for coffee and conversation (and a few peanut butter filled pretzels) in the afternoon. I corresponded a bit with Brian and Alison.

If Richard Mourdock had been elected Indiana Senator in 2012 the three strikes and out rule would still be in effect. Unfortunately, those easily influenced joined with the MSM to ensure Richard’s defeat. This eighth strike is called on Senator Joe Donnelly for his joining the forces of Reid and Obama in doing away with many years of rules and tradition when they opted to mangle the Senate approach to filibustering. Reasons for the previously called seven strikes are listed below.

1-16-13 Failure to oppose Harry Reid for Senate Leadership

2-18-13 Supporting Chuck Hagel for Defense Secretary.

4-2-13 Voting for the Senate “budget.”

4-10-13 Supporting “gay” marriage.

Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Later, I went to the Mission House, the church, post office, credit union, and grocery. Did two loads of wash and talked to Julie.

Saturday brought breakfast at the Legion Post then went to the post office and grocery. Wendy moved into the Mission House. Dan and Diana dropped by for coffee and conversation and I watched I.U. in a disappointing game.

Sunday started with church and Sunday school attendance. Talked to Brian and watched the Colts in another disappointing football game.

Yes, Linden is aware that it is usually three strikes and you are out. Sadly this rule does not hold for those who have been elected to “serve” in the Senate. In a black day for Indiana and the nation, democrat Joe Donnelly was elected in 2012 as Senator from Indiana. Strike 7 was called on Reid and Obama clone Joe for his continuing wrong votes for each of the bills the House presented to avert the damages rendered by Obamacare. The first six votes were called on Joe for his not opposing Harry Reid as Senate leader, supporting Chuck Hagel for Sec’y of Defense, voting for the Senate “budget”, support for gay marriage, not securing the border, and his immigration related votes. Those Indiana voters who did not oppose Joe should be ashamed.

Thursday began with the largest crowd yet at our breakfast with the guys: five of the six regular attendees were present, with Jack being absent. Our guests from Ghana joined us as did PCC members Lloyd and Jim. Also, Joe, who usually eats alone, joined us. It was a fun time together. Paul gave the prayer and message. I had lunch at the Milano Inn with Sam…continuing the 30+ year effort to dissolve what was our birthday club: half of our original four members have passed on and we still don’t have it dissolved. Richard and Enoch started their return trip to Ghana.

Now that many of his former supporters no longer view President Obama as being a paragon of honest virtue, perhaps it is time to revisit the mostly liberal outrage of roughly four years ago when Wilson called out “you lie” while Obama was speaking at a joint session of Congress. The events (most rarely reported by the MSM) since that time have led some of us to believe that our President is a serial liar. Wilson may have been less than gracious but it appears that he was honest. Perhaps they should worry more about honesty in Congress and the White House and less about decorum. New Jersey Governor Christie has apparently been chosen by the media as the one the Republicans should choose as their nominee for the next Presidential election. This of course is not the same as the media supporting him once he is selected. Recently there have been several articles mentioning Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and, at this point, Linden would prefer him. Put out a box of stuff for the Salvation Army, dropped off recyclables, talked to Brian, picked up my post office mail, went to a grocery, attended the Chamber luncheon, and went to a funeral home calling. Friday started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at church and was followed by dropping by the car repair shop, the post office and the church, again, Exchanged E-mails with Brian and had a nice phone visit with Julie.

Saturday started with a men’s meeting at Kingsway church followed by a short stay in my writers group meeting…left early to attend a funeral. Then watched part of I.U. getting pounded in a football game then, some boxing.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance but skipped brunch with friends.

Thursday started with the breakfast meeting with the guys…Wayne absent and this enjoyable session was followed by a delicious Thanksgiving luncheon prepared by the church staff. First, you should know that Michigan Republican Fred Upton is not nearly Linden’s favorite member of the House…Fred is seen as the one primarily responsible for the phase out of the incandescent light bulbs. Now, he has reportedly authored a House bill that addresses Obamacare. Linden will pray that, for the good of our country, this bill will not make it’s way out of the House. There is little talk, outside of some in the media, of the Tea Party Members breaking off their association with the Republican Party and forming a third party. No, the talk centers on defeating the anti-American democrats and considering the replacement of those weak-kneed Republicans who are self -serving rather than doing the job they are elected to do. As a Tea Party member, Linden believes this is the proper approach for the good of America and, further, believes that Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee performed a great service in working to do away with Obamacare. The voters should not forget that the Senate democrats were essentially 100% supportive of defeating all Republican efforts to do away with Obamacare before disaster strikes. VETERANS DAY

There are many of us and those WWII veterans (and many of those from my Korean War days) are passing away at an increasingly greater rate. Those were days when the playing of the national anthem and recitation of the pledge of allegiance brought tears to the eyes of most of those witnessing. The school were practically universally involved in promoting pride in America and it was expected of all the population. How far we have sunk!!! We have those in Congress who have made a career of tearing America down and you would know who they are if you cared enough. Friday brought the early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast followed by te usual activities. Talked to Alison for a bit.

Saturday, I spent 6 or 7 hours at the Danville Fairgrounds at a craft show. I sold a few books but not enough to make an impact on my lifestyle. Later, I watched I.U. win a football game. Liked that.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance and brunch with friends. Later, watched the Colts lose a football game. They did not look good. I missed the congregational meeting at church.

SENATORS: THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE

If you are easily entertained, you may find it amusing that so many democrat Senators who voted against every House bill which would have averted the current healthcare debacle are now concerned regarding their re-election next year. Maybe they should have read and understood the bill before they voted for it. A bill of over two thousand pages that is rushed through to passage does not recommend this bunch for re-election to an office that requires dedication to the well being of our country. Please contribute to those who will oppose this bunch of incompetents next year. LIBERTARIANS LOSE IN VIRGINIA

Or did they?…it depends upon what it is they wished to accomplish. Some things we know: the Republican candidate did not win; the democrat did win but received less than 50% of the votes cast and the Libertarian was said to have been bankrolled by democrat activists. The election results mirrored those of the 2012 Indiana Senatorial election which resulted in a democrat being elected. For years, Linden thought the Libertarian Party was made up of conservatives on steroids…now, perhaps they should just be considered to be an arm of the democrat party…much like the media. OCTOBER CHRISTIAN STUDIES

The Sunday morning message was led three times by Steve White and once by Tim Gephart. The sermons were based upon the book of Ephesians. The Sunday school lessons were led twice by Mike Isaacs and twice by John Lee. The book of John was that which was studied.

We met for Wednesday evening dinner only three times…each dinner was followed by Tim Gephart teaching from a variety of biblical references. The Thursday small group men’s meeting included readings and prayer presented by Paul, Jack, Bill and myself. The Friday early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast was led three times by Steve White and once by Dave Odor. The study focused upon the book of Isaiah. 

As usual, I attended the monthly men’s meetings at Kingsway, Chapel Rock, and CDCMF. The CDCMF meeting this month was at Connection Point in Brownsburg. . CDCMF supports Camp Allendale

The work is progressing at Plainfield Christian’s children’s wing  and the blacktopping of the additional parking area is now happily completed.

Friday started with the usual early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, I picked up some limbs that had blown off the trees in the night. Jack called in the evening to say that he had seen some peanut butter filled pretzels (thanks to Brian and Sheri I love them) on sale at Wal-Mart.

On Saturday, I arrived at Wal-Mart at 9:00 and neither I nor Donna LaRoche could find the snacks Jack mentioned. I then went to the post office, installed my new license plate, and watched disappointing football.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance followed by brunch with friends. At church Donna presented me with a gift of the peanut butter filled pretzels she had tracked down after I left Wal-Mart and Barb McGrew gave me a DVD that Lee Seitz had sent. I appeared several time on a TV show he hosted about twenty years ago and I was sure that he had sent me copies of some of those shows, YAY! Unfortunately I couldn’t get the DVD to play so, more about that later, I hope. Watched the Colts eke out a victory in their late game.

Now that Linden has accomplished this blog posting routine over 1,500 times, it is becoming increasingly difficult to select a subject. Luckily this posting was selected as soon as I found the Ann Coulter article linked below. Linden had spent some time compiling a list of those Republicans he would like to see primaried in 2014…people like Lindsey Graham and John McCain. Ann’s article led to second thoughts about such an exercise.

Thursday started with the breakfast meeting with all six of us present. Welcome back Paul and Wayne. Julie sent me pictures of Jade in her Halloween outfit…cute! I worked on projects a little but it was a rainy, dingy, lazy day so I accomplished little.
