THE CASE FOR TERM LIMITS

Over the years, Linden has been on both sides of the term limits issue. Right now, there is no chance that he will ever again waver from his support of reasonable term limits. Can you imagine the damage a liberal democrat could do if they had “served” in the House since Eisenhower was President?

Friday brought the early morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast and in the evening, I attended a nice Sunday School Class party.

On Saturday Sam came out and we had a great breakfast at the Avon Legion Post. In the evening, watched I.U. win a basketball game.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance. Watched Butler lose a basketball game.

Since yesterday’s deviation from politics to the Cutters Racing Team (Google cuttersrt) produced no noticeable reader uprising, Linden will deviate again to a completely different subject of which he is admittedly not overly knowledgeable. It is not unusual for organizations and individuals within organizations to lose their focus and Linden believes that the Girl Scouts is one of those organizations. I’M GOING RACING

Linden never said that every one of his postings would be political in nature and this one surely isn’t. I’ve had a special feeling for the Indianapolis 500 mile race, certainly since the days with the State Police when I was often assigned to work in that area. Wednesday, following up on these memories, I became an official Indy 500 Car Sponsor! It seems that a couple of enterprising young men decided to put together a Peoples Race Car effort and I, in a modest way, joined with what I hope will be thousands of others in that effort. If you wish to know more, inquire on cuttersrt on your computer. I just have one regret: a tee shirt will come to me and I ordered a men’s large…I should have ordered a women’s medium and then presented it to my elder granddaughter.

GRADUALLY LOSING OUR AMERICA

Maybe it is the result of a long period of too much winter but, as you can tell by the title of this piece, Linden is feeling a bit discouraged. More than a bit. The almost 100% approval of the Congressional democrats for granting our spendthrift President the ability to continue his record of unwarranted spending would be bad enough but the endless stories of the feckless behavior of a decided minority of the Republicans continues to convince some that there is no difference between the two parties. Monday was a great day mostly because of Dan and Diana. They brought me the ingredients for some really good fudge and showed me how to make it. Just another one of the things I can add to my fantastic cooking skills. Before they arrived I had gotten a haircut, picked up my mail and went to a grocery. No wonder I’m tired.

Linden is only one of many that have advocated severe reining in of the needless spending advocated by those who represent taxpayers in our nation’s capital. Friday started with the early Men’s Prayer Breakfast. When I got home I took a long nap. Dan and Diana picked me up to go out to eat.

Saturday I attended a writing conference at the Danville library, did two loads of wash. Watched I.U. and Butler lose basketball games.

Sunday brought church and Sunday school attendance. Later, I watched two televised horse races: had I been betting, I would have lost twice.

AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CONTROL APPROACH

Linden gracefully admits that this approach is not fully developed, that it will require further study and fleshing out, and that it will require action by the States that adopt it. Or, to put it another way, Linden did not find a thing that he wished to develop into a well thought out commentary. This is the approach: when an illegal immigrant is detected breaking another State law, their possessions will be confiscated, they will be granted a small amount of operating funds and they, along with their family will be deported to the place most often involved with solving this problem, Washington, D.C. In a nutshell, that is the approach.

SEEKING SOLUTIONS

One would have to be really dense to fail to realize that there are many problems facing our country. These problems have been made much more severe by the Obama administration. Obama has been served by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their democrat ilk. The problems caused by their feckless “leadership” have been exacerbated by apparently purposeless Republican “leadership.” Solution: remember that the worst Republican is a better public servant than the best democrat. This does not mean that this worst Republican should not be replaced by a better Republican. Possibly tomorrow Linden will bring you a suggested approach to solving the immigration problem. AMERICAN JEWS VS. ISRAEL

If the reported percentages of Jews voting heavily for the democrat party are even close to correct, and there appears to be no reason to think they are incorrect, then it would be unreasonable to think that they, as a group, are anything other than strong supporters of the Middle East policies of the Obama administration. SINGING OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM

Not long ago Linden commented upon his belief that a gaggle of harpies had purposely butchered our National Anthem just prior to some sporting event. Today, he is happy to report that he has rarely heard this beautiful song more beautifully rendered than it was by Renee Fleming just prior to the start of the Super Bowl game. JANUARY CHRISTIAN STUDIES

Linden rarely misses church services but, due to the weather he missed two Sundays and missed the programs every Wednesday night. One of Steve White’s sermons was based upon Proverbs 3:5-8 and the other was titled “God forms a nation.” John Lee led my Sunday school class one Sunday in the book of John and the other Sunday, Mike Isaac s reported on the mission trip to Ghana he and Brenda had taken. Bill, Chuck, Jack, and I alternated with the prayer and readings at our Thursday breakfast meetings. Steve White continued to lead the study of Isaiah at our Friday breakfasts.

At the monthly Kingsway meeting I gave the reading and the monthly CDCMF meeting was at Plainfield Christian.
